10 of my favourite beauty tips that you need to know about – I seriously wish I had learnt these sooner!
I may spend most of my free time writing a blog all about beauty, but do I still learn new tips and tricks every single day?
Of course!
I learn most of my new beauty tips through social media – especially from Instagram and Tik Tok.
So many of them are so simple yet effective that I wish I had thought of them myself.
I’ve compiled a list of the top 10 beauty tips that you need to know about to take your beauty routine to the next level.
So many of these beauty hacks have completely changed the way that I do my beauty routine.
Let me know if any of them work for you and don’t forget to share your favourite beauty tip in the comments!
Dry shampoo hack
If you’re like me and struggle with your hair getting greasy the second day after washing your hair, but also hate the white residue often left behind by dry shampoo – this hack is for you.
Use your dry shampoo in the evenings before going to sleep, this way it has all night to soak up all the excess oil. In the morning you’ll wake up with hair that looks freshly washed and with no white marks in sight.
My favourite dry shampoo is from Klorane!
Make the most out of your Hyalyronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid is one of my favourite skincare ingredients, so why did I not realise I hadn’t been using it properly for so long?!
The best way to use hyaluronic acid is to use it on top of damp skin. This is because it attracts moisture so the damper your face, the more it can absorb – and the more that it will hydrate your skin.
To dampen the skin I use the Caudalie Beauty Elixir.
Ever since using this trick I have really noticed that my skin has been a lot smoother and less dry!
Hair products for your brows
Soap brows are the biggest trend at the moment but it has also prompted people to find other every day products that can be used to create bushy brows.
My favourite trend is where you use some kind of hair wax as your brow gel, the best product for this being the got2be Spiking Glue. It costs £3 and comes in a 150ml tube that will seriously last you forever. Plus it holds my brows in place so much better than any other gel.
Effortless winged eyeliner
Take any eyeshadow stick and smudge it across your upper lash line, don’t worry about it being precise at all!
Then take an angled brush and blend the liner into a winged shape!
This takes me a few minutes and gives me the perfect smudged-out wing every time without having to worry about mastering the art of liquid eyeliner!
The perfect foundation hack
I love trying out new foundation hacks and my newest favourite involves spraying setting spray onto your foundation before blending it in.
Dot your foundation around your face and then spray your setting spray right on top, then go in with your usual method of blending – whether that be a brush, sponge or your fingers.
Mixing the setting spray with foundation gives your a flawless, airbrushed look that lasts all day long!
My favourite overnight curls
If you have thin hair that doesn’t hold a curl you probably don’t bother trying any overnight curl method. But, I’ve finally found one that works!
Take the belt of your dressing gown and lay it over your head and then wrap sections of your hair around it and secure with a scrunchie.
Leave it overnight and you’ll be left with the perfect loose curls. They will look the same as they would if you had used a curling wand.
The foolproof concealer method
You may have seen this all over Tik Tok, but trust me this concealer method completely changed the way that I do my makeup.
With this method you just apply a dot of concealer to the inner part of your under eye and then at the very outer edge of your eye and blend in. It looks like an instant face lift!
A natural lipstick look
If you want a quick and easy, but natural, plumped lip look all you need is some lip liner and lip balm.
I start by lightly overlining my lips with any lip liner, my favourite budget choice is the soft and precise lip pencils from essence (they’re only £1!!), and then I go straight in with lip balm to soften the edges and hydrate my lips.
Don’t blend straight away!
Trying to cover up a blemish? Apply a dot of concealer and let it dry for a little bit before blending it out. If you do this you’ll get a lot more coverage, and completely erase all evidence of the spot being there.
The secret to proper beauty sleep
Help your skin while you sleep by investing in a silk pillowcase. I switched to a silk pillowcase because I heard that silk was a much less drying fabric compared to your usual pillowcases.
Sleeping on a silk pillowcase means that your skin and hair won’t dry out as much and also can reduce irritation because there’s less friction.
With silk pillowcases you do need to invest as some of the more affordable options aren’t that good quality, I’d recommend the slip pillowcases.

Thank you for sharing these tips! I’ve definitely been using my moisturizers and hyaluronic acid, specifically, on clean, damp skin. I always feel like moisture absorbs so much deeper that way, too. I also have been wanting to invest in a silk pillowcase because I have heard so many people raving about them!
