If your skin is playing up, these are my favourite 4 face masks to get rid of spots.

Having blemishes is a huge annoyance, but one that a lot of us have to deal with.

As soon as I notice new blemishes starting to pop up I want to do anything I can to get rid of them — this usually leads me to reach for a mask.

Normally the obvious choice for a face mask to get rid of spots would be something containing clay — which I always do. But I also think it’s important to use other types of masks and ingredients to not only get rid of blemishes but calm down redness and improve your skins’ texture. Here are 4 masks that I love to use when I’m breaking out.

1 Beauty Pie Super Pore-Detox Purifying Black Clay Mask / £8.45
2 REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask / £34.00
3 Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Masque / £45
4 Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask / £15.00

Beauty Pie Super Pore-Detox Purifying Black Clay Mask / £8.45

Clay masks are great for when your skin is actively breaking out as they unclog your pores and reduce excess oils — which are common causes of breakouts.

My favourite clay mask is the Beauty Pie Super Pore-Detox as not only does it contain Kaolin Clay, but it also has Glycolic, Salicylic and Lactic Acids that gently exfoliate your skin. Salicylic acid, in particular, is a great ingredient to add into your routine when you’re breaking out, so the mixture of acid and clay in this mask make it perfect for problem skin.

REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask / £34.00

This REN Evercalm Mask is mainly focussed at calming irritation and minimising redness, so although it doesn’t contain the same kind of blemish-fighting ingredients as a clay mask does, it really helps to calm your skin down and stop it from looking so aggravated.

This mask is really soothing and makes my skin feel a lot happier almost instantly after using it.

Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Masque / £45

Another mask that is great at soothing skin that’s breaking out is the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Masque, this is a gel mask that feels cooling and refreshing on the skin.

This is a really, really great mask that I notice instant results from. When my skin is looking red I’ll put a layer of this on, wait 10 minutes, and my skin instantly feels a lot less irritated and looks less red. If you want an even more intense cooling sensation, you could even put this product in the fridge.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask / £15.00

I find that when my skin’s breaking out, it looks so dull and lifeless — so once I’ve finished battling the blemishes and redness, I like to use a mask that is going to give my skin some radiance back and get to work on improving its texture.

The Vichy Glow Mask is formulated with AHAs which helps to gently exfoliate dead skin cells away and give your skin some serious glow. It’s the perfect pick-me-up product to use to get your skin back to normal after a breakout.
