An evening routine using viral Tik Tok skincare products

This post may contain affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission if you make a purchase (at no cost to you!)

All of the best Tik Tok skincare products that are now absolute must-haves in my evening skincare routine.

It’s gotten to the point now where TikTok has become the standard in my daily mobile phone scroll—also taking up an embarrassingly large proportion of my daily screen time.

Although a lot of that screen time on TikTok was made up of me mindlessly scrolling through people dancing, pulling pranks and telling jokes, there was a side of TikTok that actually educated me… skincare TikTok.

Thanks to this community of people, I’ve discovered some of my now-favourite skincare products and brands. Items that I probably wouldn’t haven’t discovered if I hadn’t signed up to the app, or came across Hyram’s TikTok account.

A lot of the products that I’ve discovered quickly made their way into my everyday skincare routine and my skin couldn’t be happier. I’m well on my way to clearing up my acne scars and my skin is looking brighter and glowier than ever.

It’s come to the point where I now have a whole routine based completely off of Tik Tok skincare products—so here it is, my complete evening skincare routine using products that have gone viral.

(I think I have now written the word ‘TikTok’ so many times already in this post where it’s completely lost any meaning)

First Cleanse

Banila Co Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm

Most people on the app will tell you that a double-cleanse is an absolute necessity if you want good skin, and I agree—how can you expect your skincare routine to work if you haven’t removed the makeup and dirt that was on your face beforehand.

Thanks to TikTok I rediscovered the Banila Co. Clean it Zero Balm. This is a cleansing balm that I used to use but didn’t repurchase for a while.

After seeing a lot of people talking about it online I repurchased it and quickly reignited my love for the product.

It seriously is the best at removing every single last trace of makeup. Even waterproof mascara doesn’t stand a chance against this cleanser.

It’s also easy to remove and doesn’t leave any residue whatsoever, your skin feels super clean but not stripped—the ultimate first step to your cleansing routine.

Second cleanse

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

Volumes of Beauty CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Review

Following a balm or oil cleanser is a water-based cleanser, something that will get deep into your pores and ensure that your skin is super clean. For this step, the best brand to use is CeraVe.

CeraVe, alongside The Ordinary, is probably the most popular brand on skincare TikTok. Their products are super affordable, but also insanely effective which is great because it means that even if you can’t afford luxury products (or just don’t want to spend a few days’ pay on a skincare product) you can still get great skin.

All of their cleansers are great and come in a few variants, one for each skin type (read my comparison post to see which cleanser is best for you). My personal favourite is the Hydrating Cleanser.

It’s a non-foaming cleanser with a gel/cream consistency that makes my skin squeaky clean but super hydrated. In the Winter my skin gets super dry so I try to make sure that every skincare step is something hydrating, cleanser included.

Essence/toner

Laneige Cream Skin Refiner

A lot of skincare TikTok focusses on affordable products, but there are often slightly more expensive products that go viral—like the Laneige Cream Skin Refiner.

At £26 on StyleVana, this isn’t the most luxury product ever but definitely falls outside of the drugstore skincare realm.

But if any essence or toner is worth your money, it’s this—especially if you have dry skin.

This essence packs the same amount of hydrating punch as a thick moisturiser, but instead in a super-light liquid formula.

I like to soak a reusable cotton pad with this and wipe it all over my face, instantly my skin feels super moisturised and soft. It’s an absolute essential for anyone with dry skin.

Serum

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid

The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Serum Glossier dupe review

If you have a gap in your serum arsenal, The Inkey List is the budget brand that you need to direct your attention towards. Most of their serums are under £10 but are insanely comparable to many high-end products.

The stand-out serum for me is their Hyaluronic Acid (HA). It does everything you would expect in a luxury HA but with a price tag of only £5.99. It’s extremely lightweight and sinks into the skin easily without feeling greasy or heavy.

It’s my holy grail hydrating product that I don’t think my skin would survive the cold Winter months without.

VOLUMES OF BEAUTY TIP: Apply your Hyaluronic Acid serums while your skin is still damp from an essence or toner to ensure that the hydrating really penetrates your skin—HA works much better when it has something to grip to!

Serum

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum

The Ordinary is seriously one of the most viral brands across all social media platforms, and one product in particular that I’m always hearing good things about is their Niacinamide + Zinc serum.

It’s one of those products that everyone seems to love—me included.

This serum has been a lifesaver for fading redness and acne scars, I also didn’t experience any of the purging that other people have had. It’s an incredible serum.

I just finished my second jumbo bottle of this product and currently waiting for it to come back into stock as it’s always so hard to get your hands on. If you can, I’d jump on it!

Moisturiser

CeraVe Moisturising Cream

Best skincare products for dry skin

I tried to not feature the same brand twice, but how could I ignore the popular Moisturising Cream from CeraVe—another product that really deserves its viral status.

Like the rest of the products in CeraVe’s line, this is a no-frills, foolproof product that just works.

It’s a simple product with no fragrance that I can imagine working for just about any skin type out there. It also contains ceramides and hyaluronic acid, so you know you’re getting a great amount of hydration.

If you want an inexpensive moisturiser that won’t irritate your skin or make you break out, I’d highly recommend this.

I don’t think I could ever live without this product, even though I don’t use it every day it’s always something I fall back on when my skins freaking out or if my skincare routine isn’t working.

Treatment

The Ordinary Peeling Solution

Of course this product has made its way into this post. How could I talk about Tik Tok skincare products without mentioning the most viral of them all?

I’m sure we’re all familiar with The Ordinary Peeling Solution, as well as all of the controversies surrounding it—I know that I personally can’t get the thought of teenagers dermarolling this mask into their skin out of my head whenever I see it.

Aside from the issues, if you use this product correctly it’s amazing. It’s an intense treatment that contains a mixture of acids (AHA and BHA) to exfoliate the top layer of your skin.

This really shouldn’t be used any more than once a week, and not for any more than 10 minutes. For me I use it on a when I need it basis, which means every 2 weeks. I also normally don’t keep it on for 5 minutes.

Lip balm

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

The final product to finish off my evening skincare routine is a good intense lip balm, and who else can I include other than the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask herself.

Everyone on TikTok, and Instagram, has this product—and for good reason, it’s a beautiful lip balm that makes your lips soft and hydrated.

Although not as intensely hydrating as the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm, this is still a hero product at getting rid of chapped lips. Plus who can deny that it’s probably one of the most aesthetic lip products out there?

OMG I am a big fan of skincare tiktok too! It’s so addictive haha. The banila co clean it zero is one of my favorite products ever! I’ve been using it for years. I tried the Cerave moisturizing cream because of tiktok, but sadly it wasn’t thick enough for my dry skin. This was such a fun post!
