An Everyday Morning Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

Today we’re talking about all of the products I use in my morning skincare routine for dry skin.

It can be fun trying out lots of new products, but foregoing a constant skincare routine can often leave your skin overwhelmed and prone to breakouts or irritation.

I’ve learnt the hard way that the key to an effective skincare routine is consistency – you can’t expect a product or routine to work miracles overnight, they have to be used for an extended period of time before you can see any benefits.

If you suffer from dry or dull skin, here is a morning routine that targets these issues. In addition, this routine also uses a mixture of affordable and mid-range skincare brands.

Simple Water Boost Micellar Facial Gel Wash

Firstly, every morning, without fail, you should be cleansing your skin with a water-based cleanser.

This will make sure that all of the product and oil buildup from overnight is cleansed away. After that, you’ll be left with a fresh, clean canvas for your morning routine.

The Simple Micellar Cleansing Wash is extremely affordable and also super effective.

It’s great for people with dry or dehydrated skin as it leaves the skin feeling really hydrated and soft. It’s also extremely gentle on the skin.

Beauty Pie QI Energy Ginseng Root & Ginger Brightening Eye Fix

This light eye cream reduces the appearance of dark circles, while keeping the skin around your eyes moisturised and hydrated.

A little bit of this product goes a long way, plus it sinks into the skin super quickly without feeling heavy.

The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

After that, I’ll use something with Niacinamide.

Niacinamide is one of the most popular skincare ingredients of the moment for good reason — it’s a hero ingredient for anyone who suffers from irritation and blemishes.

After continued use Niacinamide is effective at calming down irritation and redness while helping with congested skin and blemishes.

The Ordinary’s Niacinamide with Zinc is extremely affordable, and very effective.

Use this every morning and you’ll start to notice a difference in a very short space of time.

Garden of Wisdom Vitamin C Serum 23% + Ferulic Acid

Garden of Wisdom Vitamin C review

Vitamin C is one of the best skincare ingredients out there. It’s known for brightening the skin and fading the appearance of dark and red spots.

If you suffer from acne scarring, this is an ingredient that you need to add to your routine.

Garden of Wisdom has a very good Vitamin C serum, not only is it extremely effective but it costs only £10.

This is a great budget alternative for cult-favourites like the SkinCeuticals Vitamin C.

NIOD Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex

Niod Multi Molecular Hyaluronic Complex

If you have dry skin, you need to be using Hyaluronic Acid. It’s an absolute staple in any hydrating skincare routine that I put together.

This ingredient will help keep your skin plump and hydrating all day long, and will really help at getting rid of any dry patches.

The best Hyaluronic Acid I’ve found is the NIOD Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex, it’s a bit more expensive than other brands that sell similar products—but this is so much better.

This serum has different sized molecules of Hyaluronic Acid which means it can penetrate your skin at multiple levels to deliver intense hydration.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra 8 Face Mist

La Roche Posay Ultra 8 Mist

If you suffer from very dry skin, a hydrating facial mist is an additional step that your skin will thank you for.

I like to spray this in between the different skincare steps so that I can lock in extra moisture as I go and ensure my skin is as hydrated as possible.

The La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra 8 is the best of the best when it comes to facial mists, it’s basically a moisturiser in liquid form.

DR. JART+ Ceramidin Cream

If you are seriously struggling with dry skin, this is the moisturiser you should try.

This is one of the few moisturisers that I have tried that have completely changed the texture and feel of my skin.

It’s quite a bit thicker than most moisturisers, but a little goes a long way and it can easily be spread across the face.

This will make your skin feel extremely hydrated and will get rid of stubborn dry patches in a couple of days.

Avene Cream SPF50+

Finally we have the most important step of the entire routine, SPF.

No matter if you’re inside or outside, you need to be applying some kind of sun protection to your skin.

The Avene SPF 50 cream is a good, accessible SPF that you can always find on some kind of offer online.

It’s comfortable to wear under makeup and doesn’t feel too thick and heavy, it has a slight white cast but isn’t too obvious and fades away quickly.
