If you’ve started to think about bridesmaid makeup – congratulations! It probably means you’ve already got all the big things planned, and it’s now time to get into the nitty gritty.
It may not have been at the top of your list of priorities, but choosing the best bridesmaid makeup is an important decision. Do you want their makeup to match their bridesmaid dresses? Or maybe follow a similar natural bridal makeup to what you’re sporting on the day? Not to mention that you’ll be looking back at photos of their makeup for the rest of your life, so you want to be happy with your decision.
I’m sharing all the minimal makeup essentials for brides who want more natural wedding makeup looks for their wedding theme. There won’t be a smokey eye, heavy eyeliner or false lashes in sight, just bridesmaid makeup ideas and inspo that let natural beauty shine.
Keep on reading for my top picks for a flawless bridesmaid makeup tutorial.
Top Makeup Picks for a Natural Bridesmaid Makeup Look
Picking out the wedding makeup looks for your bridesmaids can sometimes feel just as exciting as picking out what you will wear on your wedding day.
There are so many different wedding makeup trends you could follow, but it’s important to follow a makeup tutorial that feels on theme and somewhat similar to the makeup you’ll be wearing.
For a more natural makeup look, I’ve picked out seven essential products that will give a glam, but classic bridesmaid makeup look.
L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion
Whether you’re the bride or a bridesmaid, glowing skin is the base for any bridal makeup look. We don’t want anything with too much shimmer, as that could look a bit strange in flash photography. A primer with a dewy, glowy finish is your best bet.
For an affordable option, I like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion, a thin primer that adds a bit of hydration and a lot of glow. You can use a similar colour to your bridesmaid’s skin tone, or go a few shades darker for a bronzed look. I also like to dab some of this on the top of my cheekbones once I’ve finished my makeup look as a highlighter.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
No one wants to look tired in photos you’ll be looking back on forever, so a good concealer is essential. The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is a concealer I’ve used for years and can always count on when the dark circles are too prominent.
I also like that they added brightener shades to the range, which have a pink hue to really brighten up the undereyes.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Face Powder
Weddings can be long, and if your bridesmaids plan on partying the night away with you, they’ll want their makeup to last as long as possible. Setting everything in place with a powder will prevent things from creasing or fading throughout the day.
I would use something like the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless for a good powder that shows up well in photos. Plus, it comes with a mirror and sponge for easy touch-ups throughout the big day.
Benefit Cosmetics Benetint
A rosy pink blush will never go out of style, so picking the Benefit Cosmetics Benetint as a blush will always be a good decision for your bridal party. It’s a tint that will last all day and give a natural flush to the cheeks. Even better, it’s multi-use, so you can apply it to the lips instead of lipstick. With this tint, you just put it on and can forget about it all day.
Although we aren’t using bronzer to sculpt the face, a bit of blush will bring out natural features and enhance your bridesmaid’s natural beauty without making them look like they have a full face of makeup on.
L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara
I’ve never been a fan of a strip lash, especially when it needs to last a long time, so I always steer towards a classic mascara. I like the L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara as a great drugstore option that gives a long, fluttery lash look. You may even want to pick out the waterproof version if you’re planning for your ceremony to be a tear-jerker.
Mascara should be enough in the eye makeup department for a super natural look. But, you could easily add a sweep of shimmery rose gold eyeshadow across the lid and a thin line of eyeliner to make the eyes sparkle if mascara isn’t enough.
e.l.f. Brow Lift Gel
Because we’ve kept the rest of the makeup natural, a heavy brow could ruin the whole look, so I’d recommend keeping it simple with brow gel to give some shape and definition to the brows. You could use a bit of brow pencil to fill in any sparse patches, but use a light hand.
The brow gel that I always use is the e.l.f. Brow Lift Gel. It’s a gel that’s strong enough to keep even the most unruly brow hairs in place, so it should work for just about everyone.
NYX Professional Makeup Fat Oil Lip Drip
No need for lipstick as we’ve already got the Benetint stain on our lips, but a bit of lip oil will help keep the lips moisturised and looking shiny. You can’t go wrong with the NYX Professional Makeup Fat Oil Lip Drip, plus it comes in plenty of different colours depending on your bridesmaid’s preference.
