All of my favourite beauty products that I’ve used over the month of July
It’s been a while since I’ve done a monthly favourites where I round up my favourite beauty products of the month – this has mainly been because my beauty routine been very minimal during the lock down, and I haven’t really been trialling many products — mainly just sticking to the products that I’ve known and loved for quite some time.
After months of the same routine, I finally started to switch it up in July. I discovered quite a few new products and properly started wearing makeup again (something I had barely done since lock down started).
This month I found a new leave-in conditioner that has left my hair feeling healthier than ever, a life-changing SPF and a product that has made me leave behind my go-to black winged eyeliner… Here are some of my favourite beauty products from the month of July!
Kristen Ess Leave-In Conditioner
As I try to take better care of my hair, I’ve come to notice how expensive hair products can be. Luckily for me (and you) I discovered Kristen Ess, a haircare brand that boasts a range of quality products, without a high price tag — most of their products fall in the £10-£15 range.
Their leave-in conditioner quickly became a firm favourite for me as it smells incredible and leaves my hair so soft and swishy. I spray this straight onto wet hair and it quickly helps to detangle and soften my hair to make it smooth and silky. Plus the scent really lingers so you have great smelling hair until you need to wash it next.
Purito Centella Green Level Unscented SPF
This Purito SPF may have been a bad product for me to try as it has single-handedly raised the bar for all other SPFs. There’s not a single thing I dislike about this SPF and it has made me reconsider all the other SPFs that I’d used before it — they’ve gone from being favourites to just average products.
This SPF has ZERO white cast, it goes on feeling like a hydrating moisturiser that sinks into the skin within seconds and doesn’t feel thick or greasy. It’s a complete different SPF experience to what I’m used to, it’s made me enjoy and look forward to applying sun protection — something I never thought I’d say.
Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer
When it comes to undereye concealers I want something light and full coverage to cover up my dark circles, this often is not two things that go together. I normally have to sacrifice coverage in order to get a concealer that’s light and natural. Since finding the Hourglass concealer I don’t have to sacrifice either of these things – the Vanish Airbush concealer is super thin and feels light and airy under the eyes while doing an excellent job at covering dark circles. It’s easy to blend, never creases and stays put all day long.
L’Oréal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Eyeliner – Brown
I recently moved from my signature black eyeliner to something a little softer – brown.
It’s been a welcome change as the brown looks so much less heavy and intense and black which makes it perfect for every day wear.
I’ve been using this eyeliner from L’Oréal, which is a matte warm brown that is easy to apply and isn’t super pigmented.
I love brown eyeliner because it blends so much easier into my eyeshadow looks, rather than standing out and taking the attention like black eyeliner does. It’s perfect for creating the popular fox eye trend and just looks so much better.
IT Cosmetics Brow Power
This may not be the most universally flattering shade, but matches pretty well to my eyebrows. It’s a cool mid-tone brown that’s almost an exact match to my natural eyebrow colour. It comes with a spoolie on one side and a wind-up pencil on the other which is perfect, the pencil is slightly creamy which makes it easy to apply and also easy to wipe away if you make any mistakes. The undertone of this is what makes it so much better than other pencils I’ve used — not too warm or too cool.
Collection You do You Cheek & Eye Tint – Flush
I’m a bit of a blush hoarder, I have more blushes than I even know what to do with. But, if I see an obvious Glossier dupe in Superdrug I can’t help myself but buy it. I’m glad that I bought this £4.99 blush from Collection because not only does it look like the Glossier Cloudpaints, but it also performs like them. Now by no means is this as good as the Cloudpaints, but it’s a lot better than other drugstore cream blushes I have tried.
It’s a light gel texture that has the perfect amount of pigment for a subtle flush to the cheeks, but that can still easily be built up for a more vibrant pop of colour. It’s not patchy and lays nicely on top of makeup, it also lasts really well throughout the day. At the moment they only have two shades, Bare and Flush, but hopefully, they bring some more out soon.
