I’m sharing some of the best skin tints from the drugstore that are the perfect addition to your makeup routine for sweatproof summer makeup.
I’m back again with another installment of my favourite lightweight bases!
I did a similar post a few months ago about my favorite natural foundations for glowy skin, but this time we’re focussing on skin tints and tinted moisturizers that are suited to all skin types.
Skin tints are my favourite type of base to wear in the summer as, even though they’re lighter in coverage, they were so much better throughout the day.
When it’s hot outside and you’re wearing a thick foundation, if you start to sweat it becomes really obvious where the foundation is melting away – and it’s harder to touch-up and fix.
With a skin tint, because they are thin and lightweight, it’s not as obvious when they’re being melted away – and with a few taps you can get it to blend right back in.
I might do a post all about my top sweatproof makeup tips, as my whole routine in the Summer is dedicated to making my makeup stay on for as long as possible!
In this post, I’ve included a mixture of drugstore skin tints and more pricey skin tints, so no matter what your budget is – I’ve got the perfect base for you!
Here are the best skin tints and tinted moisturizers for all budgets!
How to apply a tinted moisturizer
I would normally apply my base with a sponge or brush, but with tinted moisturiser I like to use my fingers to blend it in.
Because these products are thinner, using a beauty blender normally doesn’t work for me as it just soaks up too much of the product – so it’s the hands that are best!
I like to squirt about a pea-sized amount of product and rub it into my hands to warm up the product a bit, before applying it to my face, then massage it in so the product really sinks in.
If you don’t think the skin tint has blended in completely, I’d go in with a sponge or brush at this point just to buff out any streaks (but normally I don’t have to do this).
What does tinted moisturizer do?
Tinted moisturiser, like skin tints, is a lighter version of your usual foundation.
It’s a base product that provides a small amount of coverage, so it’s not going to cover all of your blemishes and dark marks – but it will even out your skin tone out, which makes it perfect for more natural makeup days.
The best drugstore skin tints and tinted moisturizers
Revolution SuperDewy Tinted Moisturiser / £9
Revolution always impresses me with their products, they always deliver such good quality considering the low price of their products.
If you like glowy skin, this is the base for you. It’s a light tinted moisturiser that gives a beautiful dewy finish to the skin with slightly more coverage than the usual tinted moisturiser product.
It’s easy to apply with both your fingers and a brush and feels like next to nothing on the skin.
Florence by Mills Like a Light Skin Tint / £9
I like the Florence by Mills makeup range, it kind of reminds me of Glossier but for a younger audience. I like it because all of their products are quite minimal and easy to use, which makes them perfect for every day wear.
The Like a Light Skin Tint is very similar to the Glossier Skin Tint, it’s a light coverage and natural-product that lets your skin shine through.
It’s a great product to use all over the face, and then to follow up with a concealer to add more coverage to certain areas.
NIVEA Tinted Moisturising Cream / £3.99
I had to include this tinted moisturizer purely because of how affordable it is – I mean, how can you go wrong with a product that costs £3.99.
This product only comes in one shade, which is pretty poor – but but if it is your shade then it would be a great budget product to have in your collection.
L’Oreal Paris Skin Paradise Tinted Moisturiser / £10.99
You can never go wrong with a L’Oreal base product, and this Tinted Water-Cream is really great.
It’s so lightweight and easy to blend, and makes my dry skin look healthy and hydrated – which is always a plus. It also has SPF 20 in it, so your skin will be happy and protected.
With this one, it is more of a foundation than a tinted moisturiser, I’d say that this is a more a medium coverage. With this, you get the coverage of a foundation but with the appearance of a tinted moisturiser.
Lottie London Velvet Skin Tint / £9.95
Lottie London was a brand that was never on my radar until recently, and now I’m really enjoying their products. This Skin Tint is a really nice satin finish with buildable coverage.
It has a decent amount of coverage which starts out very sheer, so perfect for the days when I want to go as minimal as possible, but can be built up without going patchy.
If you don’t want the dewy finish that a lot of skin tints have, this would be a great pick for you.
NYX Bare WIth Me Tinted Skin Veil / £10
I mentioned how much I love this Skin Veil in the last foundation post, but here I am mentioning it again because I love it so much.
I’ve saved the best drugstore skin tint until last, because it’s by far my favourite. It feels like a moisturiser, super lightweight and hydrating on the skin – it’s the perfect texture.
The best luxury skin tints and tinted moisturizers
Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint / £25
This is a really popular skin tint that I’m sure you’ve heard everyone talking about, and for good reason – it’s amazing.
This is perfect for all skin types, from dry skin to oily skin, in my opinion because it’s not super dewy and not super matte, it’s right in the middle.
This really is best applied with fingers and blends in like a dream, once you’ve blended in it looks just like skin – it’s insane.
It’s become my new favourite skin tint as it blurs out all of my imperfections while giving the perfect amount of coverage – I’m always shocked at how flawless my skin looks after using this.
ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint with SPF 40 / £46
In the summer I try to get SPF in wherever I can because I’m super pale so I love that this has a really SPF factor in it.
I know it’s expensive, but it makes up for the price by being a hybrid makeup and skincare product that contains niacinamide, squalane and hyaluronic acid – so it’s basically a skincare routine and foundation in a bottle!
It comes in a dropper container and feels very thin and blendable on the skin. With all of the added skincare ingredients, it feels hydrating and comfortable on the skin – I have no complaints!
Kosas Tinted Face Oil / £40
So this product is expensive but if you have the budget for it, I’d recommend it.
Because it’s an oil skin tint, it feels so comfortable on the skin and is perfect for people with dryer skin. It also gives the most beautiful glow to the skin.
I like the amount of coverage that it gives, a great no-makeup makeup product that evens out my skin and blurs any imperfections – plus I love any base product that comes in this kind of packaging.
Glossier Skin Tint / £20
Glossier is known for their makeup products for people with great skin, this product is included in that genre.
It’s a super thin and light coverage skin tint, that goes on feeling more like a moisturiser than a foundation. It really gives that barely-there coverage which is just enough to notice a difference.
It’s really easy to apply, so is a great product to quickly apply if you’re in a rush. But it’s definitely one of the skin tints with the least amount of coverage, so be warned!
(psst… if you want to find a dupe for this, check out my Glossier dupes blog post)

Ugh I need the fenty skin tint! I ordered it from the sephora sale a few months back, but they mixed up my order and ended up selling out of my shade :/ I hope to get it soon though because I’ve seen so many amazing reviews! I need to give that NYX skin tint a try too!
