How the Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment stopped me having to wear foundation.
If you’d told me a year ago that at some point I would be trying to stop using foundation, I wouldn’t have believed you.
I liked having a blank canvas to work with when doing my makeup and preferred to have any redness and acne scars evened out, so foundation was always non-negotiable.
Fast forward to now and I really only wear light coverage foundations, with the occasional medium coverage product thrown in every now and then.
But recently I have found a product that makes me want to forego foundation entirely.
The Dr Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment.
What the Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment claims to do
Designed to even tone and perfect your complexion, Dr Jart+’s Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment neutralises redness and blurs imperfections for a healthy-looking, dewy finish.

About the product
The Cicapair range has moisturisers, facial mists, masks etc. that are all targeted towards people with irritated skin.
Out of the range, I have tried out the moisturiser, which I really enjoy, but the stand-out product is the Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment.
This is a thick, green-tinted cream that cancels out redness and imperfections. It also acts as a physical barrier against environmental aggressors so is the perfect hybrid between a skincare and makeup product.
You can either use this in place of foundation like I do, or use it as a normal colour correcting treatment to hide any redness before applying your base makeup – either way you put it on over the rest of your skincare products.
How to apply
It’s pretty thick so the only real way to apply this is with your fingers, I take a small amount and dot it around my face, being careful to blend it in well to avoid having a green tint to my skin.
When applied to the skin the cream blends into a light beige shade which is pretty similar to my skin tone – but, warning, I can easily see this product not working very well with anyone with medium-dark skin.
This isn’t going to cover everything completely, but it’s an absolute miracle worker in making my skin look even and healthy. It’s slightly dewy, but not oily, so you can easily get away with not using powder.
Who’s it targeted towards
Anyone who suffers with redness or blemishes. The green tint of the product will counteract any red tones and neutralise them so that you appear to have a flawless skin tone.
This won’t work for you if you have dark spots, the green won’t be able to neutralise these shades.
Price and availability
This treatment comes in 2 different versions, a travel-sized and the normal size.
For the travel version you’ll be paying £12.00 for 15ml and for the full-sized you’ll be paying £36 for 50ml.
I personally only use the smaller size, which lasts me a long time as you only need a couple of dots to cover your face. I think if you’re looking to get this product, save your money and just go straight for the travel-size.
You can buy this product at so many places online including Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay and Sephora.
Final review
You don’t have to worry about putting makeup on over top of this as it sets down quickly and primes the skin perfectly for the rest of your routine, not causing anything to pile up or look patchy.
A product has to be pretty special for me to completely give up foundation, but this treatment has made me forget about foundation altogether.
I get compliments on my skin because it looks so naturally flawless, my breakouts have become a lot less frequent, and my makeup has never looked better – plus it’s got SPF 30 which makes it the perfect all-round product for the warmer weather we are experiencing at the moment.
This is a one-stop product for better-looking skin, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I think we may have a holy grail product on our hands.
