YesStyle are currently holding their April Mega Sale (between April 7-14) where you’ll find product and brand-wide discounts.
The foundation of any good skincare routine should be products that are soothing and hydrating – and it’s a skincare philosophy that Korean beauty brands have had down for a long time.
From hydrating essences and hyaluronic acid-packed sunscreens, a lot of the best-selling K beauty products aren’t all about the intense, strong ingredients, but lean towards simpler and more effective formulas.
But with so many different products out there to try, it can be hard to cut through and find the products that really work – so I’ve done the hard work for you.
Korean skincare for hydrated skin
Whether your skin is feeling dry or you just want to achieve that glass-skin look, building a skincare routine around hydrating products is never going to hurt.
I’ve been testing some of the best-selling skincare products from YesStyle to bring you a list of the best Korean products for hydration and glow – keep on reading to find out what they are.
I’m from Rice Toner
Rice toners are a product that I really associate strongly with Korean beauty, and the I’m from Rice Toner might just be one of the most popular on the market – and for good reason.
I like to use this hydrating toner right after cleansing for an extra layer of hydration that I can lock in with the rest of my skincare products. It’s extremely nourishing and soothing without feeling too heavy on the skin. I pour a small amount into my hands and pat it onto my skin, and you can instantly feel the hydrating benefits.
EQQUALBERRY Vitamin Illuminating Serum
If you want brighter skin, incorporating a vitamin C serum – like the EQQUALBERRY Vitamin Illuminating Serum – into your routine should be your first course of action. Vitamin C is a powerful brightening product that can help to fade dark marks, acne scarring, and generally brighten up your complexion.
I like this serum in particular because it also contains niacinamide and arbutin, which are two other ingredients that I love for a bright and glowy complexion. It also has a nice punch of ceramides in the formula, which deliver long-lasting hydration to the skin and also make it much more tolerable – especially for those who have sensitive skin and may be a bit wary of using a strong vitamin C serum.
Mixsoon Bean Essence
I’ve spoken about the Mixsoon Bean Essence before, but it just can’t be missed in a post about how to get glowy skin. This sticky essence contains fermented soybean, barley, pomegranate and Korean pear extracts – not the normal combination of products you’d find in a skincare product, but together they deliver lots of antioxidants and nutrients to your skin.
The texture does take some getting used to as it’s very sticky when you first pump it out onto your fingers, but once applied to the skin, it feels just like any other serum. I notice that when I use this frequently, my skin feels smoother, hydrated and incredibly glowy.
Meditherapy Retinal Skin Booster Serum
Another skincare ingredient that should be a must-have in your routine is some sort of retinal, and the Meditherapy Retinal Skin Booster Serum is a good place to get started. Retinal is great for your skin as it helps with firmness, targets wrinkles, brightens skin tone and fades dark spots – it’s an all-rounder that will not only make your skin glow, but also really improve the texture and tone.
This is a serum that you could start using on your skin a couple of times a week while you build up tolerance, before making it a more consistent part of your routine. If you’re worried about sensitivity, you’d be happy to know that the serum also contains centella asiatica, a calming ingredient that’s perfect for more sensitive skin.
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel
Having a good SPF should always be the final product in any good skincare routine, and the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel is a really good option for people who want an extra hit of hydration.
Wearing SPF daily doesn’t just protect your face from getting burnt, but avoiding sun damage will make you look younger – and glowier – for longer. Having an SPF like this one is ideal as it’s non-sticky, applies like a moisturizer and leaves no white cast, so you’re much more likely to actually want to use it every day.
