YesStyle are currently holding their April Mega Sale (between April 7-14) where you’ll find product and brand-wide discounts.
I play it safe with the majority of my skincare routine; I like to go for pretty non-offensive products that will hydrate and nourish my skin, which normally means keeping it simple. Keeping my routine safe means I can afford to go for more potent anti-ageing products, as I don’t have to worry about any of the more intense ingredients mixing badly with something else in my routine.
When it comes to anti-ageing products, I normally head straight over to the Korean beauty brands. They’re the ones that are using the latest ingredients before they make their way over to our shelves, so I can be sure that I’m getting the best of the best products.
As we get older, having a solid anti-ageing routine becomes even more important, and I’ve been trialling a few of the newest serums and essences from Yesstyle to see what works best.
The best Korean anti-ageing skincare products
A good anti-ageing product should plump, hydrate and firm the skin while helping to fade fine lines and dark spots – it sounds like an obvious ask, but there are so many products out there that just don’t make a difference, even after weeks of using them.
I’ve rounded up some of my favourite Korean anti-ageing products that not only contain great ingredients, but actually work at making your skin look more youthful. Here are my top picks for the best Korean anti-ageing skincare products.
KSECRET SEOUL 1988 Serum
We’re starting this post strong with a serum with an absolutely stacked ingredients list. The KSECRET SEOUL 1988 Serum contains 2% retinal liposome, black ginseng extracts, bakuchiol, Vitamin C and peptides – what more could you need in a serum?
With a good mixture of collagen-boosting ingredients and antioxidants, this is a potent serum that will help fade dark spots, fine lines and uneven texture. I use it in the evening in between my serum and moisturizer – like a skincare sandwich that helps to minimize irritation, especially if you haven’t used a retinol product before. Start off by using it 1-2 times a week to build up your tolerance, then amp it up to every other night, or every night if you’d like.
Celimax The Vita-A Retinal Shot Tightening Booster
Despite the very small tube, you don’t need to worry about running out of the Celimax The Vita-A Retinal Shot Tightening Booster quickly, as a little bit of this product goes a long way.
The key selling point of this product is the fact that the Vitamin A they use is 5 times smaller than your pores, which means that the absorption rate is much higher. And the better it absorbs into your skin, the quicker – and more effectively – the ingredients can get to work. After using this, you’ll notice that fine lines and wrinkles will start to fade, your skin will feel firmer, look smoother and appear brighter.
SOME BY MI Retinol Intense Reactivating Serum
The SOME BY MI Retinol Intense Reactivating Serum contains a mixture of retinol, retinal and bakuchiol, a perfect trio of anti-ageing ingredients that boost the skin’s elasticity, improve skin texture and help to fade post-acne marks.
If you haven’t used a retinol product before, this serum would be a good place to start, as the percentage is fairly low (0.1%). After using this daily, you should start to notice a difference and see the effects. After that, you can start to work up to more potent serums with higher percentages for more dramatic effects.
Numbuzin No.9 NAD Bio Lifting-sil Essence
When I first read the description of the Numbuzin No.9 NAD Bio Lifting-sil Essence, I was…intimidated? Mainly because the star ingredient in this serum is something I’d never heard of before: NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). It sounds scary, but it’s a powerful anti-ageing ingredient that supports cell repair to make your skin look younger. It’s a coenzyme that’s found in all of the cells in our body, and when used in skincare, it strengthens the skin barrier and preserves your skin’s firmness.
What makes this essence in particular great is that it’s also packed with peptides, mushroom extract and Vitamins C and E, making it an all-round game-changer for your skin. Also, if you haven’t used an essence before, I use it straight after cleansing but before my serums and moisturiser.
Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum
You’ve probably heard of the medicube collagen wrapping mask that’s been doing the rounds on social media, but it has plenty of other collagen-packed products worth our attention. The PDRN Pink Peptide Serum is particularly good for those who want a more regular dose of collagen rather than an occasional face mask (they recommend using the serum twice a week).
This anti-ageing serum contains low-molecular-weight collagen, which sounds intense, but really it just means it will absorb more quickly into the skin. Combined with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide – two of my favourite ingredients – this serum hydrates, brightens and firms.
